Once you have configured PC-DCE on a system (either client-only or cell server), you can configure some additional client options.
Use the Options tab in the Configuration panel to enable any of the following options:
· Integrated Login. See Setting Up Integrated Login.
· Disabling daemon startup during system boot — Can be useful during application development.
· Endpoint Service only — For lightweight clients that require the RPC endpoint mapping service. For example, a lightweight client with the Endpoint Service option may be able to run a DCE application server.
· CDS Directory Version 3.0 checkbox — By default, PC-DCE uses CDS Directory Version 4.0. If you are configuring a CDS replica into a cell which uses a pre-1.1 CDS server, you must select the CDS Directory Version 3.0 checkbox.
· Distributed Time Service (DTS) — Systems running a full client (including cell servers) can use the Distributed Time Service (DTS) to synchronize system times within the cell.If you configure DTS, you must specify the LAN Profile in which you want the DTS daemon on this system to look for the network locations of DTS servers. The default LAN profile entry is /.:/lan-profile.
After you have selected the options you want enabled, click OK.
Note: Clicking OK on the Options tab does not overwrite other PC-DCE configuration settings.
