Adding Users from a Cell

When you add users from a cell, you are establishing permissions for users in the home cell or in another specified cell, unless they are previously named in ACL entries of type user, owner, group, or owner's group.

1. Pull down the Add Entries menu and select Add Users from a Cell ....

The Add Users from a Cell entry dialog box appears.

2. Enter the cell name. If your local cell does not have a trust relationship with this cell, you receive an error message when you click OK.

3. Click the permissions you want to grant.

To grant multiple permissions, click the permissions you want in the Permissions box. A checkmark appears next to each selected permission. To deselect a permission, click the selected permissions.

For information on what each permission means, click the image\acl_0032.gif button.

4. When you are satisfied with how the permissions are set, click OK.

The dialog box is dismissed. The Cell Name and the permissions you granted are now listed in the ACL. Notice that either the image\acl_0033.gif icon appears next to the entry to indicate that this is a cell entry, or the image\acl_0034.gif icon appears to indicate that this is the ACL's home cell.
