Release Applicability
This version can be installed over any previous version of
PC-DCE.
New Features in This Release
The following minor enhancements to the ADK were made:
- Added the file dce/dcekrb5.h to the ADK so that users
can call the function sec_login_krb5_add_cred.
- Exported the functions pthread_lock_global_np and pthread_unlock_global_np,
which are useful to application developers who need to call
functions in old libraries that are not thread-safe.
Problems Fixed in This Release
The following problems were fixed in PC-DCE 4.0.14, 5.0.6,
and 5.1.2:
- Fixed DFS client so that it now handles files spread over
multiple DFS server volumes.
- Fixed several small memory leaks in secd caused by the
login functions.
- Fixed memory leaks in secd caused by updating ACLs on
principals, groups or organizations.
- Fixed a bug in RPC over TCP that caused the first connection
to a server to be canceled. This bug was introduced in versions
4.0.13, 5.0.5, and 5.1.0 while adding checks to properly
handle malformed packets.
- Fixed a divide-by-zero exception in DTSD.

Applying PC-DCE 5.1.2
To upgrade to PC-DCE 5.1.2:
- Download PC-DCE 5.1.2. (See "Obtaining PC-DCE
5.1.2" above for download links.)
- Unzip the files and then run Setup. You are given the
choice to Modify, Repair, or Remove kits. Choose Repair.
Your present installation will be updated to the new version.
- Reboot the machine. The update does not take effect until
the machine has been rebooted.
Note: If you are updating a host running
the Security or CDS Server as a replica, it may take a
minute or two for the daemons to resynchronize themselves
with the master. Initially, the PC-DCE Service Panel may
say the daemons are unavailable. After about one minute
(or possibly longer for larger cells), click Refresh and
the display will show that the servers are running normally.
