Process Step 5: Plan how you will configure and name your cell's various server machines, including dedicated CDS, Security, and GDA servers, and servers for DTS, and applications. Also decide whether you will replicate some or all of your cell's servers.
Our sample cell has a simple cell configuration and three server machines configured in the following manner:
· Venus: A DECsystem 5500 running ULTRIX, TCP/IP, and DECnet acting as the cell creation host and the primary CDS server, secondary Security server, and DTS server
· Saturn: A DEC 3000/500 running Digital UNIX and TCP/IP acting as the secondary CDS server, DTS server and client, and primary Security server
· Jupiter: A DECsystem 5500 running Digital UNIX, TCP/IP, and DECnet acting as a DTS server, and a special math and application server for specific groups in the cell
