Once usability requirements have been satisfied, manageability requirements must be considered so that the directory service can be delivered in a cost-effective manner. Additional attributes that allow cell administrators to adequately deliver a high level of service should be added to the objects. The objects often must be partitioned to allow the scale of the service to expand to the needs of the enterprise. Sometimes this requires that less attention be paid to usability in order to achieve significant management payback, but this tradeoff must be made only when there is no reasonable alternative which does not affect usability.
