The Registry Service maintains a database of principals, groups, organizations, accounts, and administrative policies. Principals need to be registered only once for the entire system (see Figure 10).
Registry information should include the user name, groups to which the user belongs, and the user's home directory on UNIX based platforms. The principal can be a user, system, or server process.
