When you click on a toolbar icon or a menu option, the left side of the status bar at the bottom of the window displays help on that icon or option. To avoid activating the icon or menu options, make sure you move the mouse pointer away from the selection before you release the mouse button.
The right side of the status bar indicates which of the following keys are activated:

You can display or hide the status bar by selecting the View menu and clicking on or off the Status Bar option.
