Features of the Visual DCE ACL Editor

The Visual DCE ACL Editor is a graphical, Windows-based DCE ACL editor that displays the contents of an ACL in an easy-to-read and understandable format. Users can view and edit multiple ACLs at the same time in different windows within the ACL Editor. The Visual DCE ACL Editor supports most of the standard OSF DCE ACL Editor features and provides the following enhanced features:

· Users can inquire about another user's access to an object.

· Users can copy one ACL to another ACL.

· Users can change permissions on multiple ACL entries with a single menu-driven command.

· ACL entries are displayed in the order in which they are evaluated by standard DCE ACL managers.

· Users can remove orphan entries (those entries that refer to objects that have been removed from their Registry).
